I was browsing through my collections the other day just to clear my thoughts and I happened to bump into these pile of papers which others may think of as rubbish. True, I call them my collections because I don't have the heart to throw them all away. I know that they can be of good use someday.
Most of these papers are my students' essays which I think are either interesting or good specimen for editing exercises.
I was able to unearth again this poem from a student of mine way back in 2004. I could still remember the lesson... It was about letter writing.
To my surprise, he wrote a special message to something personified.
Have a look:
To the LOVE of my life,
Words cannot describe how much I feel for you. You are the most beautiful thing that I have ever experienced and I am thankful that I have found you.
You are perfect in every way even the first time I’ve met you – it was truly love at first sight. And from that day onwards, I knew that we would be together until the end of time.
You have guided to me to reach for my goals and you have propelled me to action.
In times of defeat, you are an inspiration so I can keep on trying and never give up hope.
You have twisted the way I see this monotonous life. You have given it a spark and challenge so I can rise above my adversaries.
You are always there for me through the good and bad times, and for that, I am very grateful and I promise that I will always try to improve myself so that I can be the man you want me to be.
Truly, you have always been faithful to me though I may have not been always faithful to you, but I have changed and I have vowed to be with you no matter what.

You don’t know how much you mean to me. That is why I am writing this love note especially for you… to you my beloved, FOOTBALL of my life.
